A ragtag group of idealists, known as Avalanche, are one of the last bastions of resistance. ![]() It's a good thing that INTERmission has given fans so much to theorize about, because the wait for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 is likely to be a long one.By exploiting mako, the life-blood of the planet, through their mako reactors, the Shinra Electric Power Company has all but seized control of the entire world. ![]() More appearances from Deepground are almost a certainty, and a much more complicated relationship between Yuffie and the core party seems a given as well. Having Zack alive and following in the party's footsteps, and potentially reuniting with Cloud and Aerith, could be a major part of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2. It seems the party's defeat of fate at the end of the remake has truly set the timeline free, and it is anyone's guess what kind of effects that will have on the story moving forward, especially if Zack is involved.įrom more fully fleshing out Yuffie and Wutai's backstory to the seeming confirmation that Zack still has a big part to play, Final Fantasy 7 Remake's INTERmission DLC sets up all kinds of new possibilities for what the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 might entail. Fans have theorized Zack may be alive in an alternate universe, but INTERmission pours more fuel on the fan theory flames, seeming to confirm that Zack is indeed alive in FF7 Remake's timeline. One of biggest questions fans had about Final Fantasy 7 Remake's ending was what it meant for Zack, who dies in the storyline of the original FF7 but is seen surviving his supposedly deadly encounter at the end of the remake. But there's even more history between Yuffie and Avalanche than fans previously knew, thanks to the inclusion of a new backstory in which Avalanche and Wutai were, at some point in the past, opposed to one another. This all means that when Yuffie does finally join the main party in FF7 Remake Part 2, she will have much more prior knowledge of Avalanche and, more specifically, Barret and Tifa's splinter cell. Yuffie expresses her support for Barret and Tifa's explosive methods, believing Shinra is simply getting what it deserves, collateral damage and all. Yuffie and Sonon even get a glimpse of Barret and Tifa returning to Seventh Heaven after bombing Mako Reactor 5. Along the way, it's made clear that Tifa and Barret's Avalanche splinter group is not viewed favorably by other Avalanche cells, with the cell Yuffie is cooperating with expressing their distaste for how Barret and his group operate. In INTERmission, Yuffie, along with another Wutai ninja named Sonon, team up with a chapter of Avalanche to attempt to steal a rare Materia from Shinra headquarters. One major way the INTERmission DLC will inform Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 is that Yuffie will have prior knowledge of Cloud and the core party prior to her actually joining their group. So what, exactly, does Yuffie's INTERmission DLC mean for Final Fantasy Remake Part 2? Potentially a ton, ranging all the way from new characters and deeper backstories to possibly confirming fan theories regarding Final Fantasy 7 Remake and its relation to the original FF7. Here's what happens in Final Fantasy 7 Remake's Yuffie DLC, and why it's a big deal. Related: How Long FF7 Remake's Yuffie DLC Actually Is The events that transpire over the course of INTERmission also give players a much better glimpse of where Yuffie will be coming from and what she might be thinking when she does eventually encounter the main party of Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, Barret, and Red XIII. The appearance of that organization alone, and several characters who are part of it, could add some strange new wrinkles to the game's core storyline. Some of these surprises were widely shown in trailers for INTERmission, like the appearance of the organization known as Deepground, which first appeared in the Final Fantasy 7 spin-off game Dirge of Cerberus for PlayStation 2.
